Bump Ahead - Prenatal Childbirth Education Class

Option 1: 7 sessions carried out on Monday evenings from 5:30 pm - 7:30 pm  

Option 2: Over a weekend from 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM

Preparing for the arrival of your new baby can bring about both excitement and anxiety. This comprehensive program will prepare you and your partner for the birth of your baby and the transition into early parenthood. 

These classes are informative, inclusive and interactive and the program was created by a Registered Dietitian, Registered Nurse/ Lactation Consultant and Clinical Social Worker.  

Some of the topics covered include:   

• Prenatal Nutrition: essential nutrients, supplementation, navigating common ailments, eating safely and gestational diabetes  
• Labour and Delivery: what to expect, interventions and options and how to prepare  
• Perinatal mental health: baby blues, postpartum depression, coping strategies   
• Postpartum: recovery and care, lactation, feeding your baby, newborn care   
• Postpartum Nutrition: maternal diet, Breastmilk alternatives, infant growth monitoring  
• Parental Mental health: 'Ugly truths' of parenthood, ways to cope, partner relationships    ... and SO much more
